SLP 101

I am an undergrad student, majoring in Linguistics and minoring in Psychology. My goal is to take post-bachelor courses in Speech Language Pathology, then move on to acquiring a Master's in the field. My motivations for beginning this blog are as follows:
-To teach myself more about the field of Speech Language Pathology, and language in general.
-To learn from professionals and others with the same interests.
-To, eventually, share my knowledge with others.
Thank you for following me on this journey.

So, been a little while since I’ve posted! Busy busy with work, school, and life. What’s new?

Anyway.

I finally set up an orientation at the retirement home rehabilitation center that a friend hooked me up with. Today was my second time meeting with the volunteer coordinator; she showed me around, made me a legit name tag (geeked!), registered me as a volunteer in their computer database, showed me how to assemble/lock a wheelchair, and more. Sounds like I will be shadowing an SLP/volunteering on Sundays for 2.5 hours a week (wish I could do more but, again, busy!).

It seems like a positive environment in which the residents and professionals are happy, so I’m pumped to get started!
