My semester is complete! A few pieces of great news:
1) I passed all of my classes. Normally, this would not be great news phrased in such a way. I strive for A’s, not to just ‘pass’. However, my fiance and I took an over-a-week-long vacation during the semester - one that I totally do not regret - and it was hard to catch up. I figure that my studies can swallow my life whole when I begin my post-bach and subsequent master’s courses. For now, life can have the upper hand. Anyway, I got an A+ in Behavior Modification, an A in Social and Cultural Change, a C+ in Elementary Statistics, and a C in Cognitive Neuroscience.
There are a few reasons why I’m not completely ashamed of those C’s. First is, I’m terrible at math. However, I was actually doing well in the class before my vacation. I’m pretty sure that I could have gotten a B+, had I not bombed the last few quizzes and the final. Also, Cognitive Neuroscience was tough, and I consistently scored better than a lot of people in the class. My attendance and daily quiz grades are what brought me down. So, in my heart, I did well this semester ;) That’s stroking myself a bit, isn’t it… :S
2) My graduation audit has been completed - twice (had to harass the auditor after the first time around because she screwed up…thanks, motivated staff at EMU) - and it turns out I only have to take two PSY classes and a Phys Ed class next semester!! Words cannot convey how geeked I am :D Now I will have time to continue working with the student org. I started with two other girls, as well as build up my resume with relevant volunteering and shadowing opportunities. I was certain that my last semester at EMU was going to be rough (was expecting a Chem lecture and lab, a Linguistics elective, and two PSY classes), but now it’ll be a breeze.
3) I have completed my first shadowing gig, and it was awesome. I wish I could say, “I am now 100% certain I would love this job”, but the reality is that there are many types of environments to sample. Ready to move onto the next!
